I don’t get why firemen are more popular than cops. But then again I don’t really follow the news. #Hacks
Penguin crashes helicopter. God as my witness, I knew they couldn’t fly
No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction
When “Star Trek: The Original Series” first aired in the late 1960s, it offered American viewers not just a glimpse of futuristic star travel but also a reflection of contemporary social tensions.
So is the “What’s your toxic trait?” question just the off from work version of “What’s your greatest weakness?” interview question?
Was anyone else turned on when Queen Neve threatened the captain of her Crimson Guard? Or was it just me?

Star Trek: Voyager spinoff but it’s just Tuvok traveling from planet to planet solving mysteries. Tom Paris and Harry Kim fly him around in a souped up runabout.
“This is a court of space law not a theater!”
I’ve seen “The Menagerie” from Star Trek: Original Series maybe hundreds of times and I had never noticed this absolutely bonkers line.
“I was raised on Vulcan. I attended the Vulcan Science Academy.”
“My uncle Everett is in a Beatles cover band. It hardly makes him John Lennon.”
Ah, first season Paul Stametz from Star Trek: Discovery. Wit so dry you can grow space mushrooms in it.
I’ve been playing Star Trek: Fleet Command for years I used the Augur a lot during that time. Now I have unlocked the classic TOS skin for it. I actually use the Augur a lot less these days as I’ve unlocked better ships. But this skin looks so cool that I might want to bust it out again.

If William Shatner ever comes back to Star Trek it should be as a voice cameo in a Lower Decks movie.
In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, episode “Subspace Rhapsody,” towards the end of the final number, Spock notices that the meter showing frequency of the subspace field is just short of what is needed to break the improbability and return the universe to normal. So he joins in the final dance number to help the crew reach the needed frequency. It was a nice touch to show Spock’s reluctance to go along with the musical reality as well as his willingness to complete the mission.
Noticed this old screenshot today. It really does sum up the problem with PVP in a lot of online games like Star Trek: Fleet Command.
Mark Ruffalo in Mickey 17 - Spoilers
I’ve noticed that many reviews about Mickey 17 have highlighted Mark Ruffalo’s over the top performance. And while it’s clear that his performance is clearly a parody of one politician in particular - the movie doesn’t even try to make it subtle - I think I see some layers beyond Donald Trump in Mark Ruffalo’s performance as Kenneth Marshall. Beyond Trump, I see a lot Richard Nixon in his mannerisms and facial expressions. And as he grows more unhinged, he even starts to resemble Nikita Khrushchev or even Benito Mussolini.
Finally, Marshall hosts his own talk show aboard the colony ship where Mickey 17 takes place. This feels like a direct tip of the hat to Hugo Chavez and his successor Nicolás Maduro, who also hosted their own talk shows as dictators of Venezuela.
